Pet Sitters, Inc. was founded by Janet McCann who has owned and operated it since 1982. She personally interviews each owner over the phone to be sure the correct match is found. No mailed out applications forms are used since she wants to get to know each pet personally from information supplied by the one who knows the pet best - YOU! The goal is that your pet will fit into someone's home where it quickly becomes just a member of the sitter's family.

Janet McCann was asked to help write the regulations for licensing of pet sitting services by the Missouri Department of Agriculture. Pet Sitters is liscensed by the Department of Agriculture and is a long time member of the Better Business Bureau.

Janet, who has a Master's degree from Washington University, has many years of dog-related experience including the training and placement of dogs for physically challenged people, obedience training and showing, AKC conformation and behavior problem solving.

The sitters have various experiences with pets but they all have the fact that they love dogs and cats. They are offered medical and behavioral seminars and have 24 hour a day contact with Janet if problems were to arise.
